Master Reality Shift Ethics

"But all lost things are in the angels' keeping, Love"
- Helen Hunt Jackson

High Energy Money
I write about some amazing stories about finding money in my latest book, RealityShifters Guide to High Energy Money, so when I saw a San Francisco Chronicle article this week on the topic of The Murky Ethics of Found Money, I wondered, When money or other valuables manifest, how best can we see and master ethical considerations regarding the source of new prosperity in our lives? Sometimes we discover things (including money) that was not lost by someone else, and which clearly belongs with us at the time it arrives. Sometimes when I have found money, it was not a candidate for being returned to someone, because for example, it arrived directly in my wallet as I held it in my hands, discovering each time it opened another dollar bill that had not been there moments before.

The author of the found money ethics article raises the important consideration that, "found money can become the perfect missing piece to whatever moral puzzle you've constructed in your own mind." While indeed it is true that a simplistic attitude of "finders keepers, losers weepers" or some other such justification for why we deserve to keep what we found could at times be unscrupulous. Only by viewing each individual situation empathically from the point of view of the one who lost what we've found can we hold the moral high ground. The prevailing view of reality currently leans heavily against the possibility of money appearing out of thin air, yet for those of us who've seen money appear before our eyes, the question becomes one of how best to view the welcome windfall, and respectfully honor the participation of anyone else involved.

We know that when we find things we suspect belong to someone else, the ethical thing to do is care for them respectfully and make a serious effort to return them... even if it seems that what we found is small. But what shall we do when we literally see something appear out of thin air, or arrive in a closed area that nobody else had access to? A big part of the answer comes from caring for others as we care for ourselves. The importance of directing only positive energy toward others is centrally important in our own well-being and the well-being of those our thoughts and feelings influence. In my experience pulling dollar bill after dollar bill out of my wallet, as I describe in my book High Energy Money, I remembered I had moments earlier wished for enough dollar bills to pay my waitress a fair tip. My recognition of what this money was for made it clear to me that these magically manifesting dollars were intended to go directly to my waitress, not to me.

One of the best books on the topic of how people are capable of both ethical and corrupt intentions, and how we can minimize the damage and destruction we can do to others with our minds is Dr. Larry Dossey's brilliant book, Be Careful What You Wish For. Dossey describes how people utilize negative prayer both consciously (in order to win at a game or in business), and unconsciously (venting feelings and thoughts without regard for the effects on the recipients)... and he covers a wide spectrum of negative prayers from the sophisticated curses and hexes of sorcerers to the more common varieties of drive-by prayers and prayer muggings. Those who work with prayer every day, such as sorcerers and priests, know better than to make idly damaging statements such as, he ought to be shot, or I hope he chokes -- and Dossey includes some fascinating stories of how such thoughts have precipitated real physical effects. I consider Dossey's book essential reading for anyone seeking a better understanding of how to understand and protect oneself from negative prayer, even when those prayers come from well-meaning friends, family, and colleagues, and an excellent reference point when mastering the ethics of reality shifts.

See What is Truly Real

See What is Truly Real

"When you learn to listen and see what is truly real, you will hear and see much more than your senses tell you."
- from Karen Kimball & the Dream Weaver's Web

News travels very quickly these days, and with so much shocking information moving from all points of the world faster than ever before, it's possible to feel a bit overwhelmed or even traumatized. There is a greater need than ever for each of us to make time to slow down, heighten our sense of true connection to nature and ourselves, and gain a deeper heartfelt understanding of what is truly real. Such a practice of mindfulness is recently being scientifically shown to help people respond to people and situations in the present moment, rather than being triggered to react.

The key to becoming and remaining mindful and grounded lies in making time to center oneself each day with a sense of what is happening right here, right now. Even the simplest activities, such as waking up, breathing, drinking, eating, and walking can be mindful. Bringing complete and full attention to what is actually happening right here and now is a powerful way to stay in responsive, rather than reactive, relationship with the world and those around us. Matters that had seemed of great importance suddenly take a back seat, as we can focus on telling loved ones how much we care, and make time to show compassion, appreciation, and kindness in everything we do. By reaching out to assist others, we benefit from the knowledge that we live in a compassionate world; when we focus more on kindness than proving we are right, we establish a sustainable basis for a community we enjoy living in.

What a source of inspiration the Japanese people have been following the terrible disasters this past month. I've been extremely impressed with the degree of thoughtful consideration and cooperation shown by so many Japanese people after the terrible earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crises of the past month. Rather than focusing on selfish interests, people are consistently staying focused on doing everything possible to share what precious resources with neighbors and strangers as much as family and friends. This is a time when much can be appreciated as long as one views the world through wise eyes that see beyond the superficial to observe unexpected and simple joys amidst earthquake aftershocks, rolling blackouts, and resource shortages.

Karen Kimball
The recent crisis in Japan presents us with an opportunity to extend support and assistance through prayer and donations. Spiritual jeweler David Weitzman says he will donate all profits from the sale of the Japanese Phoenix Pendant to Japanese earthquake and tsunami survivors. David said he envisioned the design for this beautiful pendant prior to the powerfully destructive disasters last month. After the earthquake and tsuanmi hit, Weitzman knew the importance of this very special design, which symbolizes rebirth, resurrection, and hope.

The opening quote in this month's RealityShifters comes from my book, Karen Kimball and the Dream Weaver's Web, a story about a ten-year-old girl who discovers secrets of a lake at swim camp while developing abilities to see and hear things ohers can't -- talking with animals and spirits, affecting other peoples thoughts, and flying to hidden places. Karen discovers ways to become mindful, in order to master her newfound abilities in time to save the camp and her friends. Karen Kimball is now available in paperback, Kindle, and ebook editions -- and is a great gift idea for sensitive young people who can benefit from reading about a responsive, mindful, proactive and compassionate heroine. Check it this beautiful new book and look inside the book today!

Master Fears & Create a Positive Shift

Cynthia Sue LarsonSee Cynthia Sue Larson summarize this RealityShifters on YouTube!

"If we are not responsible for the thoughts that pass our doors, we are at least responsible for those we admit and entertain." - Charles B. Newcomb

Learning to master our fears and develop a good relationship with the unknown is essential to living life to the fullest. One of the greatest things I ever did for my self confidence was graduating from UC Berkeley's physics department. I discovered when I began classes at age eighteen at UC Berkeley that I was one of very few women students in the physics department, and typically the only female in any given class. I was painfully shy, and frequently got knots of nervous tension in my stomach from the combined stress of living away from home for the first time, taking classes on a faster-paced quarter system for the first time, and being keenly aware of being an extreme minority. In order to succeed in this environment, I had to face and conquer many fears.

Cynthia Sue Larson 1981Cynthia November 1981
My first report card at UC Berkeley hit me with a feeling very much like a physical blow when I saw instead of getting most all A's as I'd received all through high school, I was getting C's. I thought to myself that my first report card from UC Berkeley confirmed my worst fears. These fears had to do with my thinking that the only students who could make it through UC Berkeley's rigorous physics program were the ones I saw in the majority in LeConte Hall... young Asian males. I broke down in tears at the thought of failing in my physics program, and wondered how I could ever tell my parents what had happened. Failure in my eyes at that time was more to do with not getting As than it was the concept of being kicked out by the university. In the midst of my dark mood at that point, my roommate Kathryn bounced joyfully over to ask me, "Did you pass?" I wiped my tears away with my hands, stunned by her question. "Yes, I passed," I replied. Kathryn whooped for joy, and said, "Let's celebrate!"

I still had tight knots in my abdomen facing the rigors of getting a grip on the quarter system, living away from home, and being one a handful of women in my program. The greatest epiphany for me at that juncture in my life was the simple realization that my own thoughts and attitudes made the biggest difference in my success in life. Yes, I had passed my classes... and while my first reaction to seeing my report card was to grieve, wasn't it a whole lot healthier to celebrate the fact that I was not at risk for flunking out?

This turning point in my life taught me that by mastering my inner dialogue of thoughts and attitude, I can face anything. Not only can I overcome my fears, but I can improve my relationship with whatever or whoever I have been afraid of. Even though I was still painfully shy, I found ways to enjoy being the only girl in most of my UC Berkeley Physics classes. I found ways to see myself as succeeding at meeting my goals by tackling areas I had difficulty with in small steps... and I succeeded.

2012 Creating Your Own Shift
And speaking of fears, the year 2012 brings curiosity and a touch of fear to all our minds. Unlike the Y2K fear, 2012 has been foretold in prophecy for thousands of years. People wonder what it means, who will be affected, whether 2012 is the end, and what will happen to us. I found some fascinating answers to these questions in 2012: Creating Your Own Shift, a tremendously important book at a time when the world seems to have gone crazy! This book is a strikingly powerful epiphany and a practical handbook, all in one. If you wonder what's going to happen on December 21, 2012, this book is a must read! It will enable you to explore the deeper nature within and guide you to answers about the outer world. 2012: Creating Your Own Shift summarizes the best insights that thirty-seven of the world’s most authoritative sources have to offer, providing readers with a vast cross-section of titillating information and perspectives on the 2012 transition. One thing on which all the authors of this amazing work agree is that 2012 will mark an initiation into a completely new consciousness and a divinely ordained new beginning for our world.

Be Your Own Valentine

Cynthia Sue LarsonSee Cynthia Sue Larson summarize this RealityShifters on YouTube!
Be Your Own Valentine

You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.
Be Your Own ValentineBe thine own Valentine!
Valentine's Day has long been a favorite holiday of mine, mostly because I have always adored the idea of having a special day dedicated to the idea of Love. I enjoyed cutting and pasting hand-made Valentines when I was a little girl, and giving them to people I cared about. Valentine's Day is such a marvelous opportunity to tell the world how much you love it... and to let yourself know how much you love you, too! Never mind all the hype about how this day is devoted only to romantic love... the real beauty of having a day to honor Love is that when we stop to think about it, love is everywhere, all around. The key to most fully enjoying Valentine's Day is to be loving toward ourselves... being our own Valentine!

One thing I notice as I get older and wiser is what an enormous difference energy, enthusiasm and attitude makes. It's obvious how much better my days are when I start each day with meditations to clear, harmonize, balance and raise energy to a central core feeling of being the embodiment of love. This feeling of loving oneself is not so much "all about me," as it is about experiencing unconditional loving acceptance and support for oneself. This feeling can become one's regular everyday state of being, even when it feels strange or unfamiliar at first.

I was fortunate growing up to have a mom who frequently asked me the question, "What would make you truly happy today?" Whether or not you are in a romantic relationship, ask yourself, "What would make me truly happy today?" and imagine what you can do to brighten your day. Many of the same acts of kindness we like to do for others are every bit as wonderful when we do them for ourselves... such as thoughtfully making a favorite beverage, finding a favorite book, or going to a special place at sunset. You can even get yourself something whimsical and fun as a special token and reminder of love. Let this Valentine's Day be extra special for yourself this year, and know that when you feel loved by yourself, you are truly brightening the world.

I'm delighted to announce that my fifth book, RealityShifters Guide to High Energy Money, is now available in paperback, Kindle, and ebook editions! Finally all my best meditations, reality shift stories and summaries of prosperity research can be found in one book designed to inspire you to thoroughly enjoy finding, keeping, and growing your finances. Celebrate Life

Happy New Year! I love the feeling of getting a fresh start in life every time I move to a new place, start a new project, and start a new year. I love the sense of fresh energy and hopefulness and the feeling that anything is possible! When we celebrate these turning points in life, we get a terrific energetic boost.

New year's resolutions don't have to be entirely focused on restrictions and constraints... it is possible to take our positive intentions and transform them into ongoing celebrations that continually inspire us to be and do those things we desire when we focus on what most excites, tantalizes and enthuses us. Thinking about and taking steps forward according to such positive ideas is invites us on a celebratory journey through life,. One of the ways I celebrated life this past month was by spending a night in a beautiful treehouse, comfortably situated some thirty feet high in the air, surrounded by beautiful trees. I had longed to stay in a treehouse since I was a little girl, so this experience was tremendously meaningful to me. There is a special kind of joyful feeling from such an experience, which stays with me long after my time in that enchanted treehouse is gone.

This time of a brand new year is a perfect time to think about celebrating life in ways that truly make you happiest, based on what you've come to know about yourself. At the start of this new year, this is a great time to imagine it will be in your life within the next year... and write it down in a special journal of what you are thankful for, what you are dreaming of, and what you desire. There is something marvelous about combining a gratitude journal with your favorite hopes and dreams, and I have found that things I write down in such a book come true amazingly fast and easily. If you are grateful that you have a really good friend, give some thought to that special friendship, and write a sentence or two about what you love most about your friend. If your health is good in some ways, take some time to feel gratitude for all the things you are able to do. If you'd love to travel somewhere, or spend time in a special place, imagine yourself in those places, and write down a description of being there.

I Am Healthy
I invite you to celebrate life this year in two fabulous ways... by having fun with more money and better health! I hope you will read and enjoy my new brand new book, RealityShifters Guide to High Energy Money, as it inspires you to thoroughly enjoy finding, keeping, and growing your finances with inspirational stories of real life monetary reality shifts. I am also thrilled to invite you to join me in the I Am Healthy Project by declaring the powerful affirmation, "I am healthy." The target for this project is to start off by generating a critical mass of one million people who are all aligned with the same powerful and transformational idea... an idea that has the power to transform the world.

Enjoy Divine Balance

Cynthia Sue LarsonCynthia Sue Larson in Sonoma, California. See Cynthia summarize this RealityShifters on YouTube video!
Enjoy Divine Balance

"So divinely is the world organized that every one of us, in our place and time, is in balance with everything else." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I was on my way to an event in San Francisco the other evening, when I ended up getting a bit turned around, not sure which way to go. I walked over to the nearest building, and asked a gentleman in the lobby directions at the very same moment that I noticed there was a wedding in progress. A feeling of amazement washed over me as I realized I had arrived at precisely the right time to see the bride and groom holding hands on the steps, and taking their vows. In this equisite enchanted moment, I knew I was in exactly the right place at the right time, and not really lost at all. In fact, this little detour added a richer emotional depth to my evening, as I marveled at the beauty of the moment being so deliciously sublime.

The more I practice meditation and mindfulness in my daily life, the easier it is for me to feel in balance with what is going on, even when it is not going according to the plans I had in mind. A mindful attitude gives me a unique opportunity every time things seem to be going slightly (or very) wrong, helping me keep an open mind to considering the possibility that everything is fine. Such a relaxed, positive mindset has been credited with contributing to creative breakthroughs and inventions, and also has been rather closely associated with happiness, and reduction in stress... so there are many reasons to remind ourselves this holiday season to stay relaxed even when we start to feel stressed out due to things not being the way we expected.

We can all benefit from adopting positive self talk about ourselves and our health, such as is recommended at this month's award winning web site, I Am Healthy Radio. I am honored to be part of a very special I Am Healthy Radio teleseminar on How to Eat Well, Look Good, and Feel Great today, December 6th, from 3pm to 6pm PST. You can also listen to me talk about my journey and reality shifts as part of the I Am Healthy University i-Heal Education Series

Experience Good Timing & Flow

Cynthia Sue LarsonCynthia Sue Larson in Sonoma, California. See Cynthia summarize this RealityShifters on YouTube video!
Experience Good Timing & Flow

"Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different."
- Stacey Charter

I enjoyed watching the World Series baseball games this past month -- especially the players who managed to consistently stay calm despite the pressures of performing at their opponents' home stadium in front of thousands of people in a nationally televised game. Clearly, being on top of one's game requires not just skill, but also an inner quality of character that helps ensure a relaxed attitude, complete focus, good timing, and seemingly effortless flow.

What kind of mindset brings us most readily to that optimal state of experiencing relaxation in the face of tremendous opposition, so we can maintain good timing and flow? When I reflect on this question, I get the answer: acceptance. Accepting ourselves as we are, and the world as it is, from a place of loving oneself even if other people might think of us as atypical, a misfit, or even a "freak."

Attaining this kind of self acceptance that ensures an optimal blend of being relaxed, focused and poised is something each one of us can cultivate for ourselves, and it starts in a state of unconditionally loving oneself. We can take daily check-points of how we are feeling, in order to pay closer attention to how relaxed versus tense we are, how loving versus fearful we are, and how joyful versus sad we feel. Whatever we are feeling thus becomes a kind of set point, which we can observe and accept, noting things we would like to change in our lives that we have the ability to improve, and making a commitment to ourselves to make those improvements, always unconditionally loving and accepting ourselves just as we are, every step of the way.

It turns out that this kind of openness and mindfulness is also the optimal approach to parenting, as Dr. Shefali Tsabary points out in her wonderful book, The Conscious Parent. When we embrace the totality of who we are, including our imperfections, we empower ourselves and those around us to be the best we can be at who we are.
